BOULDER, Colo. – October 13, 2009
InfoPrint Solutions Company, the joint venture between IBM and Ricoh, today announced the further expansion of its workgroup line with the addition of new wide-format monochrome multifunctional printers (MFP). These latest solutions provide users with ongoing price and performance choices, with the comfort of InfoPrint’s dedication to sustainability at the heart each offering.
The new models – the InfoPrint 1948 MFP, InfoPrint 1968 MFP and InfoPrint 1988 MFP – offer sophisticated networked printing for large workgroups, alongside innovative cost- and time-saving features. Their multi-function options remove the need for single devices such as fax or scanner, while high speeds and performance enable scalability and help reduce the total cost of ownership. Detailed finishing options make it easy to handle complex tasks such as booklet-making and hole-punching.
Consolidating multiple devices
"The new InfoPrint 1948 MFP, InfoPrint 1968 MFP, and InfoPrint 1988 MFP make device consolidation easy," said Paul Preo, Vice President, Distributed Solutions, InfoPrint Solutions Company. "These MFPs can be placed in a central location to service multiple departments, and connect easily to a network allowing users to quickly remove underutilized, expensive single function devices such as fax machines, ink jet printers, and individual desktop printers."
These three monochrome laser, wide-format MFPs models feature:
- Improved architecture promoting solution enablement
- Fast processor that support complex jobs
- Printing speeds of up to 35, 45 and 55 pages per minute (ppm) respectively
- Duplex as standard, saving paper by printing on both sides
- A USB port that offers direct print-and-scan convenience
- High levels of security with PIN-based user access controls, corporate directory browsing and encryption
- Optional wireless connectivity to reduce installation costs
Simplify day-to-day printing with advanced functions
The InfoPrint 1985 monochrome laser printer features up to 50 ppm allowing workgroup users to print complex jobs and produce industry-leading print quality documents. The combination of a powerful 800 MHz processor, 256MB of standard memory and an optional hard drive upgrade appeal to high volume workplaces.
"Customers can install this printer at the point of need without waiting for IT to reconfigure or install new cables using the optional wireless adapter," continued Preo. "Flexible paper handling options, such as duplex, high-capacity input and a finisher can fulfill a wide variety of input and output requirements,"
These latest models boast features such as an "Eco-Mode" setting to further reduce energy consumption. A standard duplex printing capability and reduced packaging help decrease waste and cost. Improvements in scanning technology and internal airflow design help reduce noise pollution, with a "quiet mode" feature also available to further lower acoustical noise. These new products offer high-yield toner cartridges to extend cartridge life span and result in less tonnage in the landfill.
